BRF and the Environment
Learn how we help take care of the planet through energy efficiency programs, reusing water and reducing waste emissions at our units and in our chain.
With an eye on environmental issues, BRF has several initiatives for the efficient use of natural resources to mitigate the impact of its operations on the environment. Besides following an Environment Policy - which determines minimum guidelines for environmental performance, we have a specialized technical team that participates in all phases of our projects, from conception to implementation. The objective is to promote a consistent evaluation of environmental impact and to give priority to the eco-efficiency of the equipment and processes used.
Our employees continuously participate in campaigns about the importance of recycling and about conscientious consumption and, in Brazil, through the BRF Volunteer Program, they have the chance to work on actions for revitalizing and preserving the environment in those communities in which BRF operates. We created recycling standards in the administrative building similar to the already existing programs at the factories, focused on the conscientious use of paper towels, printing paper and disposal cups, with the objective of stimulating a change in habits in-house and elsewhere.
